In the mid-fifties, two Moretti brothers Alessandro and Roberto emigrated from Italy to the US finding employment with Pilgrim Glass Company. Their production consisted mainly of glass animals; birds, cats, ducks, horses, fish, elephants etc. Today the works of Alessandro and Roberto are carried on by their brother-in-law Mario Sandon. He does not appear to have made many clowns so Sandon pieces are pretty elusive! All of his clowns are identifiable by a wide open mouth.
